Rishton Ki Saanjh –  releasing on April 14

The film revolves on a story of migration, separation and solitude.

Produced, written and directedbyAjay Saklaniwho is also the director of photography too, the film is co-produced byShivaniSaklani.The film has lyrics byAdarshDhiman, Ajay Saklani and Shreya Shah and music byGauravGuleria.The film has five songs which are rendered by well-known and award winner MohitChauhan with Pavithra Chari and GauravGuleria.

About the film:

Rishton Ki Saanjh is about a young city dweller, Sanju, who is forced to move in with her grandmother in a rural village following her implication in a social media scandal. There she slowly forms a friendship with her grandmother’s learning-disabled lodger.

Shot in the Kullu Valley, the film beautifully captures Himachal’s culture, language and stunning landscapes. The film’s main theme is the hardship faced by aging parents who are left behind when their children migrate from villages to big cities. It also asks how inter- generational relationships might be rebuilt.

Rishton Ki Saanjh  is the first commercial feature film to be produced in Himachal Pradesh. A dream project for director and producer Ajay Saklani, who hails from District Mandi, the film has been screened at several American film festivals, as well as been awarded the Himachal Excellence Award 2016 by Divya Himachal.

Cast:
The film predominantly has Himachali cast and crew include lead actress Aditi Charka, who belongs to District Chamba, lead actor Vishal Parpagga from Mandi. Rupeshwari Sharma, also from Mandi, plays Sanju’s grandmother.

Two Bollywood actors stars like Asif Basraportray’sSanju’s father and TaranjitKaur, of AankhonDekhi fame, plays her mother.

Celebrated Bollywood playback singer MohitChauhan, who was born in District Sirmaur, has rendered 2 songs for the film; while GauravGuleria from Dharamshala has provided the musical score.

The film has made its mark not only at the state and national level but also made its presence at the international level by bagging Best Feature Film Award at the Borrego Springs Film Festival 2017, and Award of Merit at theAccolade Global Film Competition—both in California, USA.
