Bina Modi, awarded “Women of the Decade in Business & Leadership” at Women Economic Forum Awards 2018

A successful entrepreneur and leader, Bina Modi was awarded the “Women of the Decade in Business & Leadership” at Women Economic Forum Awards 2018, held on Friday, August 3, 2018, at Delhi.
An associate of ALL Ladies League (ALL), the Women Economic Forum (WEF) is a global conference to foster empowering conversations and connections among women committed to foster constructive change in ALL walks of life. Also present at the event were Femina Editor – Tanya Chaitanya, fashion designer – Ritu Beri, Founder of Mpower – Neerja Birla and others.
Speaking at the event, Mrs Modi said, “With a focus on empowering women, artisans and ensuring equality for them, I have been constantly working on various projects to achieve this. Receiving this award is an honour for me.”
Bina Modi has also founded and built several successful brands that respond to the niche audience; her Ego Specialty Restaurant Chain, Dessange Salon and Beacon Travels are renowned in their respective industries. Fashion brand ‘Bina’s’ is especially valued by her. Bina’s was launched with a vision to create a global market for traditional designs and embroidery. The brand experiments and is inspired by different fabrics, threads and embroideries, and antique textiles from all over the world. Bina’s is credited with reviving and using traditional artistry such as Chikankari and Parsi Gara into modern women’s wear.
Today Bina Modi’s businesses are contributing to the legacy of US $ 2.8 billion conglomerate, Modi Enterprises.
Besides heading her successfully performing companies, she also serves on the Board many Group Companies and as a Director, Head of Family Council for Modi Enterprises.
Bina Modi is also on the CSR Committee of Godfrey Phillips India and her commitment to social responsibility and her personal zeal drives the CSR programs with focus and with the underpinned values of the Group.
Bina Modi has also been featured on ‘India’s Most Powerful Women’ a book by Prem Ahluwalia.
